This class was very fun. I liked this class very much. Mrs. Debolt should change nothing about it. I liked that the projects were easy and simple. The thing that was the best this quarter is doing the timed typing tests every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The only thing I didn't like were the free blog posts because sometimes I didn't know what to blog about, so I just blogged about something random.

Gym class

Gym is fun because you get to play games. Gym is just not about playing games it is about doing excercises and running. Running and excersising gets your heart rate up and keeps you fit. In gym we play capture the flag, prison ball, and hockey. There are also tests like the sit and rech test. Also when we are done running we get to play basketball.

I have found myself in front of several doors. A voice tells you: "These doors go to several places like Narnia, Neverland, Wonderland, Hogwarts, Camelot, Middle Earth, and Westeros." I had no idea what to do, so I opened the door that said Camelot. I had done this because I have heard the stories about the strange place and the legends. Once I opened it I saw a weird beast, and once I saw how massive this thing was I knew this was a bad idea. A few seconds after the beast blew up in front of my face. Then this guy came towards me and said that he blew it up with an eplosion spell. I had no idea what he was talking about, but once he led me to this town Camelot I figured out what he was talking about.

This is a blog post about 5 sentences. 5 sentences are really easy to write, and i am blogging about five sentences because I don't know what else to write about. They Took Everything Except One Odd Thing

I walked into my house after a day at six flags, and saw that my house had been robbed. They took everything my couch, my clothes, and worst of all my toilet paper. They just left one thing it was an odd thing. It was a car engine. I was confused, but made 4,000 dollars when I took it to a pawn shop. The engine did look odd though, and the only odd people in my neighborhood were the winstins. They stayed up until midnight in their garage working on cars and stuff. I new it was them because they were working on the engine and I walked across their house miding my own business, and they told me too get off of their lawn, so i told them i wasn't on their lawn. Thats probably why they robbed me. I called the cops instantly, and when they arrived I told them the Winstins did it because of the engine. The cops asked me how did I know, and I told them there was a note that said we the Winstins robbed your house.

U.S. Military

The U.S. military keeps us safe every day of our lives. They make sure that we can be safe in our homes, country, jobs, and businesses. The men and women of the U.S. are fighting as we speak to keep us safe every day so we can live our lives as free Americans. If we did not have the military then America would not be a free nation, and there would be dictators and people trying to take control in order to overpower the poor and become rich and famous.

Thanksgiving story

for my first thanksgiving as host last Thursday nothing went bad except that two dogs followed us home when we were walking our dog. We decided to walk our dog after we ate, so we walked down the street to my uncles house and there were two dogs in their driveway, and we thought they were their dogs. So we talked to my uncle and we left after ten minutes. When we left the dogs followed us home and went in our backyard. Since i live in an area where the houses are spread out we have a pond or lagoon. One of the dogs jumped in and smelled bad. So i ran back to my house and one of the dogs almost got in and almost ate our turkey that was leftover.

Thanksgiving weekend

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are the days that Festus Middle School gets out. During this time there is a holiday called Thanksgiving. My thanksgiving traditions are, getting to sleep in, and my uncle coming down to visit. my favorite thanksgiving food is pie. i am planning to go hunting in the woods in front of my uncles house during this time, looking forward to sleeping in instead of waking up at six o clock a.m., and playing with my dog.

         These are train tracks that have most likely been abandoned.  They were probably abandoned a long time ago, and a lot of freight trains, passenger cars, and other types of trains that went on these tracks.  Also the trains might of carried flamable substances that might have caused the train to wreck, spillover, and now the tracks are just a historical landmark. The spillover probably was killing out some animals in the area. So the trains won't run on the tracks.  Trains probaly still run on these tracks sometimes.

About Me

My name is James Ziesmer and i am 12 years old.  I like to play football and baseball.  My favorite class in school is social studies.  I don't really have a least favorite class because all my classes are awesome.  I like to play a game called minecraft.  Minecraft is a game where you build totally random things and at night monsters come out.  You can build any thing you want to from boats to houses and hotels.

 I am always on time to my classes. I was running late to my 6th hoyr class because Mrs. Davis never stops talking and I did not put my folder up in my binder. I was in Mr. Z's room when the bell rang. He says that if we are not in our seats that we get a tardy. I already have two tardys from his class and I do not want to get another one because I am always on time to my classes every day.

Just add monsters

One day I was playing hide-in-go-seek tag in the dark with my sisters and brothers. I was the one that had to go find them. I turned around a corner and I seen a monster. I was screaming so loud that you could maybe hear me from a mile away. I run to the front of my house and I hide under my mom's car. When I was calm and I turned my head and it was there again.

One day my little sister was playing on a playground bridge and she fell off about 5 feet. She was only 1 year and 5months when she fell off. When we went home we thought she was ok but she wasn't. We went to the hospitle and the doctor said that she broke her arm. They did x-rays and she got a cast. 

They took everything

The robbers that broke in side your house, left one odd thing in your living room. It was a small note that they left when they robbed you.

It said," Thank you for leaving your door unlocked. We took all of your jewelry and your game systems that you will never ever get back".

In January I was doing my homework and I felt something on my back. I turned around and their was nothing there. When I was in my room I felt something breathing on me and I went to go tell my mom that I felt something breathing heavyly on me and I took pictures and there was orbes in my pictures. I did not want to tell her because I did not want to scare her.

India

I feel that when I watched the video's that it was horrible. Hospitals in India have illegal ultra sound's. Woman how have baby twin girls, the husband wants to have to have one of them killed. Boys in India are more valuable than girls because they make more money for the family. If the girl is married to the man and their family does not pay up the woman gets betten. Some villages  in India have only boys because 1000 woman are being killed each year. One husband had a ultra sound on his wife and it was a girl and the doctor said that the baby girl would be aborted. A woman named precash core how takes care of  baby girls that are in dumbsters or the parents put the baby in a shot and precash core would take care of the baby.

Life span

When I look at the picture I think of how your life can go by so fast. We have a very short time to live and we do not even know how fast it goes by. when you turn 60 people think that 60 is a long time to live but it is a very short time you have lived on Earth. To me, I think that life is a precious thing to have because you do not know how fragle life can be.

The moment that I would bottle up is when My dog died. He was out side when he got killed by a car that was going over the speed limit. If I could go back to that moment I would try to save him. The person that hit my dog said he was going to get me a new dog but when I did it was not the same as it was when I had my other dog.

Last night I was playing with my nephew and he is a wild child. He was wanting to wrestle with me and he literally can up behind me and was jumping on me like I was a a jugle gym. Then after that, he told me that I was a rude for not letting him jump on me any more and then he throw a car at me.

My name is Landen. I am taking over this blog now. I will be using it for first quarter.

Award Ceremony

Earlier in the year, my best friend, Catheryn Anderson, and I took the ACT test. We were really nervous to be taking such an important test. What made us feel better was the fact that we were taking a test that was made for high scholars to test them for college. It was very intimidating to see all of the juniors and seniors getting ready to take the test at the same time as us. The test was very long. It took almost four hours to get through. The subjects on it were regular subjects but it was all based on topics that we hadn't learned at the time. After the test, we were excited to see our results. Four weeks later, we both got a letter in the mail. It was our ACT scores. I was very nervous to see my results, but my mom encouraged me to open the envelope anyway. I opened the brown packet and took a short peek at my composite score. I was expecting something like a thirteen, but I looked at the paper and saw that I had gotten a 24! My parents were so proud of me and Cat for getting such amazing scores. Now we have been invited to attend an award ceremony for intelligent individuals down at Drury University on May 18. We will receive papers acknowledging our incredible accomplishments. We are very proud of ourselves and cannot wait to be recognized for our scores. The best part is that I get to go down with my best friend and share the amazing experience with her.

My best friend, Catheryn Anderson, and I have just been informed that we have been invited to the Drury Summerscape camp! We were told that our high GPA and our outstanding scores on the ACT test that we took a couple of months ago were what got us in. We asked our parents about the trip down to Drury University and after a long discussion with both families, they finally decided to let us attend. We were thrilled! The trip is eleven days long so it will be the longest time we have ever spent together away from home. We will be staying in the dorms on campus and will attend two classes every day. The morning class will be Movie Classics. We will learn about the movies that have played in the past. Our second class will be in the evening. The class we chose to take is a CSI course. We will be investigating the murder of a person and trying to solve the case. Both of us are extremely thrilled to be invited to such an amazing camp. Our parents are very proud of us for exceeding the qualifications needed to go on this trip. Going on this trip will give me the responsibility that I have wanted for a very long time. The best part is that I will be spending the whole time with my best friend. I can't wait!

My Favorite Teacher

My favorite teacher is my advanced English teacher Mrs. Sears. I appreciate Mrs. Sears because she is always on task but still allows the class to have fun during our lessons. She helps me out with anything I am having issues with without any hesitation at all. She is down to earth and understands when I need help and offers it willingly. She teaches in a very unique way that most teachers don't; she has fun. during our lessons she will randomly bring up a story that relates to the subject we are learning, but she always manages to get back on task without any issues. Mrs. Sears also lets her classes do individual work which is my preference when doing English assignments. All in all, Mrs. Sears is a fun loving, intelligent, down to earth teacher and I will never forget how helpful she is or how much she has contributed to my schooling.

Every year my dance studio takes our pictures in our dance uniforms. We always hire Fast Photo to come to the studio for a week in May and take group photos, single photos, and double photos. The costumes this year looked really good so we decided to take more than normal. We took many photos of each costume and then it was our time to take our individuals. I took a picture with my friend Summer in a very "different" costume. Then I took some individuals of me in a very large tutu. They turned out great and every dancer was very excited to see that our pictures this year were good.

My Day Off

Yesterday was a day off for the Festus school district. I decided to have one of my friends over at my house. The friend that I invited was Taylor. We spent the whole night downstairs in my room laughing and watching some movies that I had on DVR. We fell asleep at around 1:45 am the next morning. My parents left to go to work and we got to sleep in til 10:40! When we got up, we went upstairs and watched CSI Miami and Criminal Minds. After being bums for a while we decided to get up and cook lunch. We set the oven to 345 degrees and made some pizza rolls. We waited til they were done and got really excited when we took them out, but we both burned our mouths on them because we didn't wait. The rest of the day was a lazy day but it was worth it. I had a blast!

Earth Day

Yesterday was Earth Day. Earth day is a time to appreciate the planet by helping it out. Many ways to help the planet are to recycle, reuse, plants new trees, or pick up trash around your neighborhood. Recycling is probably the most popular. Most people will recycle paper, aluminum, and glass. They will put large green bins outside their house next to their trash cans. These bins have the nationwide sign for recycling; three arrows in the form of a triangle. My way to help out the world is to pick up trash. I pick up the trash that ends up in our back yard all the time, and I plan to do it more often. This prevents waste from seeping into the ground and destroying the life that it inhabits. Much of our earth needs to be cleaned. Many people can do it. You should join in!

I do not have any biological sisters. I have two brothers instead. However, I do consider two very important friends to be my sisters. Their names are Catheryn and Stella Anderson. These two really do play a large part in my life. We spend most weekends together doing the not-so-smart ideas that most normal people wouldn't come up with. All ideas are fun, but some don't turn out the way they were planned. We have wrestled in home-made bubble wrap dresses with mustaches drawn on our faces using eye liner. The project was a complete success, but although we had an amazing time ripping bubble wrap dresses to shreds, we soon found out that mustaches made with eye liner were not the brightest idea. We have had dry skin on our faces ever since that day. (About two months!!!) We also go everywhere together. Last weekend we went shopping up at the Mills Mall. We had a blast. It seems that no matter what we do, we always enjoy each others company. Never once since preschool have we gotten in a fight. I have however broken up a lot of fights between my two adorable sisters. (Them being very close in age has a huge disadvantage on their relationship.) I never thought I would become so close to such a klutzy family in my life, but I'm glad I did. They always have my back throughout the middle school breakups, drama, and even the family issues. I couldn't ask for a better second family!!!



My Dream Vacation

If I could go anywhere in the world right now, I would go to the Great Wall of China. This is my dream trip because it is an important historical monument. It was built a very long time ago and is still able to stay strong, proving that all of the hard work that was put into this masterpiece really paid off. On my trip to the Great Wall of China, I would try to get to one of the guard posts. The long and tiring trip up the many steps and forty degree inclines would definitely pay off. These guard posts were patrolled by many brave soldiers trying to protect China. I believe that this is one of the greatest monuments in the world and deserves much more appreciation than it receives. Seeing this historical monument would be an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience.

If I looked how I feel, I would be a dancer in a big tutu with my hair tied back into a bun. Dancing is my life and everyday at school, I look forward to my classes that I attend after school. People see me walking through the halls doing my tap routines or my individual combinations. When I dance, people normally say that I'm graceful. Therefore, every time dance pops into my head, which is normally about 90% of the day, I see myself in a pink tutu twirling on a big stage in front of judges, instructors, other dancers, and a large audience.

Quack, Quack!

I have the most amazing buddies! We always have so much fun and come up with the most insane stories and sayings. One of the more recent sayings is "Don't squash the quack quack!". This saying came up today when we were in Mrs. Bruns's sixth hour science class. Mailine, Noah, Alyssa, and I were all sitting at the same table. We were working on the current assignment that had to do with M&M's. Our job was to make a pie chart with them to describe what gases are in the atmosphere. After we finished our project, we all started quietly chatting. Mrs. Bruns gave us permission to eat the M&M's and told us that we could save the cups for ourselves. Mailine decided to make a joke and put the small paper cup to her nose. All the sudden, she shouted, "Look! I'm a piggy! Quack, quack!" Everyone just kinda stared at her until she realized what had happened. After that incident wore off, Alyssa took the cup Mailine had used for her pig nose and smashed it. I pointed at her hand and said, "You squashed it!". Nobody really knew where that came from but we all said, "Don't squash the quack quack!" at the same time. It was really funny and left all four of us red in the face for the rest of the hour.

        There are many ways to stay healthy. Eating a healthy breakfast in the morning is just one way to keep your body up and running. Many people choose to exercise and to keep their body in shape. Another way to keep yourself healthy is to limit your unhealthy foods. Eating a lot of junk food can make you sick, and is bad for your health. Washing your hands is always an important factor to keeping yourself in the best shape possible. When you wash your hands, you are removing many harmful germs from your skin. This can help prevent you from coming down with a harmful illness.

Ergonomics

       Ergonomics are the study of how a human uses their workspace and it's equipment. Some bad habits of mine are resting my wrists, putting my feet underneath my chair, and bad posture.

       Our work stations here at school are not ergonomically sound. The chairs do not support your body, decreasing the comfort ans support of your spine.

       People should sit perfectly upright when working on a computer. Their feet should be flat on the floor, and their arms close to parallel with the floor. Your elbows should be in allignment with your wrists, to prevent sharp pains. Their eyes should be level with the top of the screen, but in the rested position looking slightly downward. Although the you are keeping these positions, your body should be relaxed. These positons will help your comfort when working with a computer.

Distorted Images of Residents on Google Maps

       In some cases, I do believe that blurring images could be necessary, in the case of protection, privacy, etc. Although, some images may need to be as accurate as possible, to help with using the map. A lot of people use Google Maps to find routes to their next location. Distorting images on these maps may cause issues for the people trying to maneuver them. Privacy is definitely something to take into account. Google maps puts images of places without any permission from the residents. These images rarely produce problems with people, but some are taken with children, pets, etc. sitting or playing in the yards. These images could easily be copied and kept by dangerous people. This causes major safety issues, giving the fact that almost anyone with a computer and/or internet could view these images. However, the main residents that are distorted are important buildings, coorporates, or landmarks. These places are well known, and are rarely come across without recognition by people due to their location on the maps. Once again, distorting images could be a safer way to make these maps, and also an inconvenience to the many harmless causes this website is used for.
